Buddhist lessons I twittered about
These are the Buddhist lessons I extracted from Ajahn Brahm’s book, Open the door of your heart. Lessons I wish to share here.
- Look at the good in people, instead of their defaults – there is so much good in all thing & people!
- Stop thinking so much, and all is much easier.
- Our western society pushes us to be free to desire. The secret to happiness is to be free from desire.
- Love, compassion and concerns for others are real sources of happiness.
- You are the most important person in your life. Before you can help others, you need to be able to help yourself first.
- Before you can make others happy, you need to be happy yourself.
- Past is memory, future is planning. The only time to live is now, this moment.
- Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened
- Blessed are the cracks, as they let the light through
- Whatever you do, do it well. Be it discussing with a friend, working, cleaning the floor, waiting in a queue, … You’ll never be bored.
